I love Dubstep and proud of it!

Post by Un-supreme » Thu Jun 06, 2013 6:45 pm

Seems like a lot of people are ashamed of it nowadays. Don't throw it away like your old Moschino Jeans.

Being an American and all i usually stray away from any discussion, seeing that people are just gonna assume i'm talking wubs.

I normally just call it 130/140 bass music then people have no idea what i'm on about.

My response is usually "um...dark stuff focused on drums and bass".

eh dubstep is still O K but I love drumdub so much more these days, something I'm very proud of this fact and try to mention it in conversation to as many people as possible because it's so important to me for people to know this.

"I listen to a lot of Dubstep... No, not that kind of Dubstep... yes there are other sounds in dubstep, it's actually very diverse... no you're right, I am talking shit, it's all just skrillex noise isn't it... no that was sarcasm... you know what, nevermind mate"

90% of all conversations about dubstep I've had when people ask about my music taste, I've given up and now just reply "experimental electronic stuff" most of the time

*sigh*

Nothing worse than saying you like dub music and they think you mean skrillex. These nuggets that think dub is a slang shorterned word for dubstep :x

"Do you like that new reggae tune Damien Marley done with Skrillex?" Yeah fuck off mate.

I didn't even classify it as experimental, whenever I speak to people over here it's just 'musica electronica' and leave it at that.

I've tried losing the word experimental for my explanation but then people just start talking to me about either discolsurehouse or skrillwubz again :(
