Quick slow down sound effect in Logic?

Post by Vanilla Nasty » Mon Jun 17, 2013 12:04 am

An example would be around the 2:44 minute mark in this tune: [Soundcloud

As well as around 39 seconds into this

Basically it sounds like it kind of... I don't even know. Rewinds really quickly? Is that just a quick pitch modulation type of thing going on? I'm not sure if that's a synth doing it, or if it's something done in post-processing/a sampler etc. Like say I make a quick mid range stab bass; every time it hit it would sound kind of like it was... allllmost rewinding, like someone was ready to reverse it then stopped.

This is the worst description ever and I apologize. If anyone has any idea what the fuck I'm talking about then any insight would be appreciated.

uhh the first one sounded like pitchbend down. the second one didn't really sound like anything but a couple extra notes.

you might be looking for a tape stop effect.

That seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Now I know the name of the technique. Thank you very much.
