Linking controllers in FL studio
I think its just about clear now that to make a wobble bass you have to link the LFO to the cutoff filter, and im fine with the idea, but i cant figure out how to actually link them. I use FL studio and i know that you right click on LFO (say for example with the TS404) and you press link to controller but past that point, im lost! I couldnt find anything about it in the manual, can anyone help?
if you are using an actual controller and it's working properly with MIDI, just right click on any knob in FL like you said and goto link to controller. as soon as you do that, turn the knob on your controller that you want it to be linked to. that knob should now control the knob you linked to in the software. when you turn the physical knob, the knob in the software should move. if you wanted to control wobble, you would really just link to the LFO rate/speed, which would control how fast the wobble is.

Right answer to the wrong question I think relik. Think he wants to know how to get the LFO to affect the filter.
Cracktactics think you're going about it the wrong way. I dunno with Fruity or the TS404, but depending on the synth there should either be (a) a knob near the filter called "Mod" or "LFO" or something like that, (b) a switch near the LFO called "Send to" or "LFO Dest" or something, or (c) a modulation matrix within the synth, where you can set up a mod source (the LFO) and send it to a mod destination (filter cutoff).

dude...if you are just trying to assign it to the cutoff, select "CUT" under the LFO section. you should have an option for OSC, RES, CUT, and PW. it's below the filter settings. once you do that, just play with the LFO speed (SPD).
i thought you were trying to link to a controller like the topic said, but the above should work for you.

try this also: choose a synth with long bass preset and put it to channel 1 for example, link this with mixer, insert 2 for example, then insert FL plugin "Fruity Fast LP", right click on the cut off button -> edit events-> from window just opened click Tools and then LFO, a new window appears with 7 buttons. Click Play on FL on play with buttons. Have fun

alvin has the method right there, thats the best way to do it. right click, edit events, then press ALT and O to get an LFO on it.
its easy to make transitions between different wub wub speeds by selecting only a few bars at a time and changing the speed of the LFO.
there is much fun to be had with a low pass filter!!
note: by right clicking>edit events>alt+O you can assign an LFO to pretty much any knob in FL Studio. on the 3xOSC and TS404 fruity synths, under the misc section, there is also filter cut and resonance knobs. this is a quicker and more direct way of doing it than using a fruity lp on the fx channel.
to get a heavier and louder sounding wub wub from your bass, copy the LFO automation from the lowpass filter cutoff to the volume of the synth, this makes it fade in and out of volume at the same rate as the filter wubs, and gives your bass notes more impact.
this method only normally works with stock fl synths like the 3xOSC.
also, i thiiiiink that the alt+O shortcut to the LFO only works on FL Studio 7.
