SNH Cycling thread

Post by hutyluty » Sat Jun 29, 2013 10:35 am

So the 100th edition starts today and the course looks pretty exciting. Froome is looking very strong indeed but he's never led a team in the tour before and when he was in charge in the vuelta last year he cracked a bit (admittedly finishing 4th after 2nd on the tour and bronze at the olympics was still pretty good). Everyone sees Contador as his biggest rival but tbh I think he's strugglig this year, I see him losing loads of time one day and having to make it all up in some massive doomed attack, hopefully on Alpe D'huez. Instead I think Rodriguez will push Froome all the way, though the time trial might be his big downfall.

My predictions- Top 5
Froome
Rodriguez
Rolland
van Garderen
Schleck (yeah this is unlikely but i love him)

Polka dot- Valverde

Green- Sagan

White- Pinot

Froome is looking good, hope he can get it after being so loyal to the team last year.

I don't know much about tactics, but why are Omega Pharma spending so much time at the front of the Peloton? Aren't they going to wear them selves out?

They have to chase down the breakaways on the flat stages if they want to deliver cavendish a chance of victory- if he stays on his bike.

Poor jonny today again lol, also the bus stuck on the finish was hilarious.

My man Johnny did awesome :Q:
Scored quite a few points and the stage today, plus none of my team got any serious injuries.

Huty, I don't think Schleck is more unlikely to finish top 5 than Rolland and van Garderen honestly.

Yeah i basically just picked my favourite riders plus froome.

But- van garderen came 6th last year whilst protecting a struggling evans and rolland was one of the better climbers and its a big mountainous course. But yeah contador will probably get in there.

Who would you predict?
