Question on definition of "brostep"

Post by Deakar » Wed Jul 10, 2013 10:44 pm

Forgive my ignorance but is brostep used as a derogatory term? To me, this is a fairly new term to which I don't fully understand.

Uhh well it depends who's using it. It's kind of derogatory but in some contexts, it's not.

I've only heard used in a derogatory sense. Anything that emphasizes high frequency screeches, boom tisk pattern is bro.

This basically, but I have heard people who like it refer to it as brostep, as in: 'oh I love bass cannon, that's proper dubstep but I also like skrillex who makes brostep'

brostep is only derogatory if you have hatred for the music defined.

i enjoy my brostep and i reference it that way because its become synonymous with the genre.
