Bought Traktor S4 on Craigslist with no Software?Help Please

Little bit worried, just bought the Traktor S4 for 250... He just gave me the controller with no software.

I know I need traktor,real version of course which I'm going to buy

but I read online that I need to register the actual controller?
Do I need to install some sort of drivers for the Traktor S4..

Please get back to me asap, i hope my traktor S4 is not just a big paper weight.

Buy and install the traktor program as well as the S4 drivers and you're on your way. No need to register the physical controller, or at least I didn't have to. Also just a quick tip, make sure you change your computer's audio output to traktor (on PC it's in control panel - manage audio devices, not sure about mac) so that it uses traktor's soundcard rather than the inferior PC soundcard.

Maybe phone or email whoever sold it to you and ask if they still need the Traktor copy that came with it? If they don't they could transfer the license to you

Thanks!! I will try this when i get home. I did not know about that! Because I tried to use S4 with a traktor demo and it didn't work!

Maybe check over at the native instruments forums. They have a really active community over there that would be able to help you out.

I honestly dont know if the traktor software that comes with the controller is part of a bundle or not. I know for maschine the controller and the software are 2 different things, might be the same way in youre case.

Ether way, $250 is a good price for an s4 even without the software. Once you get that youll be ready to go for under $350. Thats cheaper then an s2 brand new.

I'm sure the only software that comes with it is a demo version of Traktor.

For instance when I bought my APC-20, it came with Ableton Live Lite, not the full blown version. You usually have to by the software separate from the controller.

Traktor always comes with the full software, I just don't think it's attached to the hardware so the seller can keep it and sell the controller.

It looks like you are going to have to buy Traktor Pro 2. Crimsonghost is right about it coming bundled with the hardware.
