When i ask whats good for choir sounds im kind of limited. I only have massive, sylenth1, and all the stock synths and plugins that come with logic pro. I know native instruments probably has some super good synth for exactly this kind of thing but im stuck with what ive got. Im really wanting to learn how to make them because i really like how well they fit in with hip hop beats. Logic has a choir preset for the EXS24 but it just sounds so block-ish. I just think its not a very smooth sound like you can clearly tell its a preset (Same with all the strings presets. So if anybody wants to help out with that, too, and kill two birds with one stone...). And ive never really used the EXS24 so i dont really know how to use that synth but it looks like its using triangle waves for its choir preset...? Sorry if this is kinda vague but does anybody have any advice? Id also like to know how i could change it from more dark sounding, to light sounding, to neutral, etc. just for whatever mood im in.
PERFECT example of how well choir can fit in with hip hop. Bad quality but its the only instrumental i could find on soundcloud

Sample a real choir or use a choir sample library, imo synth'd choirs sound shitty. That track kinda sounds like a sample library choir idk.

Sounds like a resampled choir to me and its side chained with the kick to compress the sample enough so doesnt t get that weird jittery effect when play a sampled loop over and over. Hip Hop is basically all samples or something that is resampled. Making a choir sound in a vst wouldn't compare to a library or sample honestly

Where would i be able to find some choir samples or a choir bank? Ive got youtube downloader so would i just be able to rip the audio off of some choir video or something and re-pitch it so its in key..? Or is there a better way to do that? And i think your totally right about sampling because i went back and looked at the EXS24 on logic and thats a sampler synth. Heh guess that goes to show how much i know how to use that synth
