Firewall Paradox - Through The Firewall (Dubstep)
I've had some pretty positive feedback so far on this one, but I would love to get some constructive criticism. Thanks for listening!

Snare is really weak. The drop doesn't work that well. The bass patches don't seem to blend to well. There are a lot of synth elements that are too dissonant. On the positive side it has a nice structure and a very good pad. But..I don't know about this one TBH.

Haha!! well for a start i had Kill the noise playing in the other tap and thought i'd pressed play on urs! fucked me up so hard.
Being honest i think your basses blend in my opinion. It's a cool song different to what a lot of the songs on here are like!
I do agree with the weak snare though! try bit of compression (admittedly a lil bit of DADA Life: Sausage Fattener) don't over do it though 2 or 3% will do so we don't fuck up the signal of the sound, maybe add a ride drum sample of your snare to give is some feel of space which i think would be ideal for your track.
Tis my feedback good job sir

Thanks a lot for the replies guys.
Soul of Seun, would you be able to elaborate on what's dissonant/what doesn't blend? Personally I really like how I did the drop, so I'm having a hard time seeing where you're coming from.
I see what you guys mean about the weak snare though. I haven't been able to find a snare that I really like. I've tried layering, EQ, and compression, and it seems like it just makes things worse. Do either of you know a good place to learn about that?
D00FY, could you explain what you mean by "add a ride drum sample of your snare"? Do you mean like a ride cymbal?

In my personal opinion none of the synth elements at 1:22, the wobble, the leads, sound good together at all. It's like they are overly detuned and quite generic sounding. Of course I'm just an amateur myself and don't have technical knowledge so my word isn't gospel. But I didn't enjoy it all. Sorry, dude.Firewall Paradox wrote:Thanks a lot for the replies guys.

Thanks for the reply! Is it weird in a good way or a bad way?

No need to apologize! I really appreciate the feedback. Hopefully I'll do better next time! Also I have to say I'm really enjoying the vibes from the song in your signature.
