What Inspires u to make Dubstep

Post by feasible_weasel » Mon Sep 10, 2007 2:25 pm

:D Im officially started my Woodlands Animal EP will be out early next year.
Just getting samples together, and just trying to get my small garbled mind around getting 15 tunes finished.
im listening to alot of music like garage, dubstep, darkstep.world music.
all i need is something to set me off, at the moment,im listening, and trying to work out how to construct a tune.
im def going to get a dictaphone, and record some background to get atmospheres.
BTW the Wobble Cat Riddim is going to get a major refix

15 tunes to weedle down into an EP??? or a 15 tune EP? surely the former?

sometimes a good enough sample that no-one else has and is completely worthy of having a track built up around it is a pretty good place to start... I also recommend self-orchestrating catastrophic events, forcefully ending intimate relationships and bare amounts of coffee for inspirado

The sound a fart makes when you press your bum really hard against a flat surface and let one off.

I'm straight off to Reason to try and get a sine to purrrr like that

I always get an idea for a tune just as im drifting off to sleep then i force myself to stay awake for four hours and make something thats nothing like it

oh well

Oh and sometimes on the bus through the city at night i get good ideas.

Sex and drugs are definately a distraction from production for me.

Big dubstep nights with good DJ's and big system is always inspiring.

Just gotta be in the mood i guess, making tunes when i'm tired or pissed off doesn't go anywhere and is just a chore. But leaving it till im in a good mindset and getting some nice sounds can be mad inspiring
