Making your bass dry and crunchy - Klax & Disonata style

Post by balthazarely » Thu Oct 10, 2013 3:50 am

I resample stuff all the time to get talking, growly, monstor basses but i cant figure out how these 2 have gotten their basses to sound so dry and crunky, while not sounding detuned or even really that filtered.

mostly gets intense round 2 min

My current guess is a lot of pitch bending, well placed distortion, etc. Anyone got any other ideas? I was also thinking the sound was created in FM, which i've gotten good, dry crunches from, but im honestly kinda lost...
