amit - never ending lp

Post by ces » Wed Apr 12, 2006 4:08 am

was wondering what people on here thought of the new amit lp...especially since there's a lot of dnb fans here. imo, this album is some truly genre bending music and it's great amit is finally getting the recognition he deserves. it's taken me several years for his sound to really grow on me..but i'm hooked now

if you haven't heard this here are clips:
unholy
dirt box
immortal
i'll hunt you
too many freedoms
swastika

and my personal favs from last year:
motherland
village folk

Dunno anything about Amit, but he sent me some T/Ps this week. Only had a quick listen but some of it sounds pretty interesting (assuming its supposed to be played at 33rpm?!). will have a propa listen soon...

*edit* just listened to those clips. looks like its supposed to be at 45rpm, so its d'n'b tempo then? fuck it, i'm playin it at 33 at +5/6.

Sickness, i cannot wait to have this on my turntable

Amit is the don. The Re Order and Second Cut 12s, both A and B sides, for me, make up 4 of the heaviest tunes about (dnb or otherwise)

Interesting read...

minimal techno?! its as if he read my list of 'things id kill to hear but never thought would possibly happen'

I have kind of mixed feelings on this. Good tunes, yes, but not necessarily a good album.

Not much variety there, all the tunes seem to sound a bit samey, half-beatish stuff what he's been doing recently.

More like an extended ep than an album.

i know what you mean, but i reckon im gonna wait and see how the tracks sound in their entirety and on a system, rather than from those little clips!

Those things have caught me out before, and judging by his track record im gonna give him the benefit of the doubt for now

Cool stuff, but he's been making the same tune for years :)

My favourites are Root and Second Cut :D

i could play for HOURS at 33. i had a weekly net radio show for a while and would get wasted and start doing that shit, used to piss people off.
