the tv licence man came to my house the other day and we let him in, he saw the tv in the living room and was like boys you been watching tv aint ya. We took him outside, showed him the aerial hanging off the roof and he fucked off and said they wouldn't contact us for 6 months. aerial is fixed now and we watching dat tv u kno

When the BBC start broadcasting the UK news instead of government rhetoric and they stop wasting money on management costs and bad programming, I may consider paying for the services I use provided by them but until that point they can go fuckaduck.

I don't get this shit at all.

You pay for a TV licence to pay for the services you watch from the BBC. Not paying for it isn't some political action like people make it out to be. It's the same as if you tried to rob Sky tv without paying for it. This seems to be crusty idiots pretending they're more important than they really are.

If you don't watch tv it's not much of a problem because you then don't have anything to hide or prove otherwise. If you're protesting that the bbc are shit and you refuse to pay then you really need to consider what all the other channels are like.

Maybe not watch tv at all? Stream things online?

You need to be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast. This includes the use of devices such as a computer, laptop, mobile phone or DVD/video recorder.

Other channels are payed for by advertisers so if they show shite, you aren't funding it, only the TV license is still demanding the money from you even if you do only watch non-bbc channels. They are making a huge profit and pissing most of it away.

Yeah if you're watching a live stream of bbc or something.

If you're watching something not live or recorded by you I'm sure you don't exactly need one. Especially if you just watch something on netflix or whatever.

The BBC are dicks and don't deserve their money without some accountability. They're just a government mouthpiece and don't give any airtime to valid alternative political views like people who don't think we should have a monarchy and smaller political parties, mayoral candidates etc.

Also, because they contract license collection to the private sector, the collectors are subject to civil law which means you can just tell them to piss off as you're not obliged to say anything. Literally just ask "Am I obliged to tell you?" to any questions they ask then ask them what law if they say yes because there isn't one.

The TV License is one of the best things Britain ever introduced. Pop over to America for a week, watch some telly and then come back and tell me the BBC isn't worth 40p/day.

The most basic Sky subscription is 70p/day and you still have to sit through adverts to pay for it.
