Low subby dubstep

Post by double-negative » Tue Nov 12, 2013 6:47 am

Hey guys, ive been working on some new tunes and thought id try something a little bit different in order to try and move more towards my own sound and less of the 'skrillex' style that seems to be everywhere these days. Heres a new one ive finished (for now) and just wanted to get some feedback for it.
I was listening to 'old school' dubstep when i was making this, so i think it has kind of the 'dubstep allstars vol.2 era' feel to it, artists such as Loefah and Digital Mystikz are what inspired it.

Let me know what you think :)

6 mins is a bit long for the stage of production you're at, try and aim for 4 mins to 4.30 mins, this got far too samey, not saying it's bad, but there's no variation really. For this kind of style you need some subtle melody, stabs, and ghost snares just to add some points of interest. You're on the right track, stick at it dude, nice sounding mix btw.

Ps drop the sub down 2-4 notes maybe, just for added deepness.
