Vibrato effect on samples (Ableton)

Post by iroc » Mon Nov 18, 2013 2:29 pm

Hey all.

Does anyone have a good tip on how to make a sample 'vibrate'?
I've got this stringsample, and i want it to have the vibrato effect, but i can't really think of how to do it.

On the miditracks, i can chose 'pitchbend' when messing with the audioblock or whatever its called, but on an audiotrack i don't seem to have that possibility.

I tried to use the transpose, but I can' get that smooth vibration. At least i don't know how. :u:

Is there any tips on an easy way to do this, preferable with the standard instruments/audio effects i ableton? Or a plugin or something I can buy?

afaik there is no built in effect for a vibrato. you could try to simulate the effect with volume automation (or autopan with phase set to 0 ) + some chorus. I know it's not the same, but it might help or do the trick

Put it in Simpler and route the LFO to pitch. Adjust speed and depth to taste. Or do it manually with the pitch wheel. Maybe Sampler has a dedicated vibrato setting? I don't remember.
