drums really held this one back, the kick snare was painfully unimaginative and the sounds didnt fit the rest of the tune

I can't tell if you have an automated filter running through this track on the kick/snare, or if there are mix issues drowning them out, either way, neither is good, takes too much attention away from the track itself, imo anyway.
Some nice vibes here, though overall the mix was quite weak.
Now, get involved giving feedback to other's

Hey thanks for the feedback guys. I appceciate you taking a listen. Yes I have an automated filter on the drums. Hey ehbrums1 do you suggest changing up the kick/snare pattern, or do u mean the drum samps themsleves suck? Echoi, can you give some suggestions on how I can make the mix less weak? Can you elabourate on what elements are weak to you?
Re: Strider White - Tap Water Blues [Striderstep/Chillstep]
Well, upon listening again, I have discovered the volume on the embedded player was low, so cranked it up, and wasn't quite as weak as first thought. Sub sounded pretty good, nice and solid, synths were also ok, but the drums were pretty flat tbh.
Sometimes with drums, rather than processing, its just a simple case of sample choice, good strong drums to begin with.

both, i guess the kick sample is fine but not liking the snare at all, sounds like you watched some bro snare tutorial and then watched the phaeleh masterclassre6ter wrote: Hey ehbrums1 do you suggest changing up the kick/snare pattern, or do u mean the drum samps themsleves suck?

Ehburms1 are you saying that because of the 200hz punch? Is that what constitutes a brostep snare? I haven't watched either of those things.
But ya im feeling you both on the idea of just starting with good sounding samps and not processing them into the mix. Ill consider that on the next track I do, solid advice.
What are the qualities of a snare that do not make it 'brostep'? Furthermore what qualities make it considered not 'flat'. Not sure what the use of the word 'flat' means (its not coming through enough?)
