First one sounds like a basic massive patch with some distortion, maybe chrome and an lfo on the cutoff of a band reject filter, the second one sounds similair except layered with a sub with a wow filter on it too

I can never get my basses sounding very beefy... they always sound pretty hollow. I guess it would be best to give you guys an example.

Here is something i tried pretty hard on. My bass sounds are just so wimpy. :o Soundcloud

Compress the basses, add a sausage fattener, if you're using ableton try using the multiband plugin, also I recommend downloading Sonalksis Stereo Tools which can widen the basses pretty easy, also duplicate the channel and use other similair sounds that fill in the frequencies that the first bass lacks. For example if you have a really nice bass that sounds great in the midrange but shitty and weak in the highs, layer with a similair sound the lacks in the mids but delivers incredible highs, also EQ them so they fit well together, repeat until you have something you love
