Not sure what synth sounds you're referring to but at some point you'll want to read this :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoover_sound (check the
sound sample already)
Then, to get you going :
1 - set bpm @ 200 or more depending on your mood (but yeah you figured that already

)
2 - grab some usual hardtechno bassdrum. Layer, for instance, a kicking distorted one (middle frequencies) with a dry punchy low-end. Experiment.
3 - look for some factory sound samples or whatever dark video games (screams, dark atmospheres and stuff)
4 - add distortion to all tracks.

I think you and daft are talking about different hardcore. You seem to be on a late '80s, early '90s Ravey tip, Feasible. Daft seems to be talking more about the more modern Gabba-ry dark stuff...

Use the same breaks as jungle or slower (or old hip hop breaks but faster)
Hit your keyboard rhythmically but with no concern for making anything tuneful
Loads of sub and 808 kicks under the kick on the break
And of course piano and chipmunk vocals
And even more of course, try to make it sound like the music you'd like to hear whilst dancing your tits off on far too many pills wearing white gloves and gurning like a special needser

Hmm....
