Building a DIY Synth

Post by leeany » Wed Mar 12, 2014 4:02 pm

Has anyone ever done this or anything similar? I'm looking to build my own little synth as part of a project for uni, but I really don't know where to start, don't really have that much experience with putting electronic things together. Any tips would be appreciated

Just started building a synth myself.
http://www.musicfromouterspace.com has lots of great info and projects (I'm currently building the Weird Sound Generator).

Its a pretty big project if you don't have much experience though. Definitely a good idea to learn the basics of electronics and building circuits before you start i.e. how components work, reading schematics, how to solder etc. There are a lot of resources on the web to help.
