That amazing robot growl from Skrillex and Virtual Riot...

Post by somepony » Mon Mar 17, 2014 6:23 am

Hello boys! I am kinda new here, and I really need your help, I've been trying to recreate a sound that makes me shiver, it's some kind of robotic synth that can be heard at:
_Skrillex - Voltage
_Skrillex - All is fair in love and Brostep AKA This Much Power AKA Untitled DJ Tool [Feat. RaggaTwins] (2nd Drop)
_Pegboard Nerds - Revenge of the Nerds [VIP]
_Virtual Riot - We Never Sleep (Second Drop as well)
A guy from The Growl Bass Thread sujested me to create a new post, because it was focused on SMANS growl, so...here I am! :D

It's kind of complicated to describe this typ of growl because it's not so usual, but it sounds really good. If you don't know what I am talking about, please check this track, where I chopped the parts were you can hear them...

Hope you can help me [Been trying to recreate it with FM8 and Massive but nothing umu]

I've gotten very close to these sounds using Modern talking + scream filter. I'm not gonna give away the patch because I think you should try and figure it out for yourself. Just Play around with envelopes and the dimension expander. try to modulate as many things as you can.
first song I ever completed: Soundcloud

Well, that sounds interesting, I tried my best, getting close, but not close enough, shall I use LFO? or the ENVs?...I really want to get the sound but I'm so frustrated ;m;
