If you were trying to get someone to like dubstep...

Post by FightToWin » Sun Mar 23, 2014 2:14 pm

What songs would you show them first?

I would show them maybe something electro since it has a drop at least...

Maybe something like this? http://youtu.be/DtYuaZFA6BA

or... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH6OAe8ReXY This is actual dubstep, just not with a brutal drop.

So to get someone interested in dubstep you would show them a genre that is not dubstep?

I wouldn't.

If someone doesn't like something that's their business. There are more important things in this world than the tastes and opinions of others.

okay first off the first video is actually some harsh electro house not just electro. Electro is a genre originating in the early 80's and is closely linked to the early hip-hop scene. This is an example of electro.

Honestly the only new music I ever show to my ****** is new rappers or my DJ mixes. Unless we be cruisin in the lack then I'm going to play whatever I please.

the people that i find aren't into it were A. exposed to the initial brostep/edm facefuck, didn't like it (shocker) and typically B. too naive to assume there is a more tasteful side to the music. like wub said, unless there's some gain like money or something i try not to spend a second of my time trying to convince people to like things be it music or whatever.
