[VIDEO] Dawud makes a track in 10mins

After dropping a new EP for Kompakt last month, Dauwd is the latest producer to take the Against the Clock challenge, attempting to put together a track live in 10 minutes. Appearing as part of FACT TV's ongoing video series (which featured Ikonika just a few weeks back), Dauwd utilizes Ableton Live and Push throughout most of the 10-minute session, chopping samples (in particular one from Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams"), sequencing drums, and getting the song started in the box before turning to a few hardware synths to add extra layers of sound.

I really liked how he manged to get a groove out out of the fleetwood mac sample using an arpeggiator. Really organic overall texture as well.

That Ableton Push controller is hench as fark, I wish I actually liked ableton just to have that controller.

10/10 for the video.

Dawud is great! I'm glad they're getting some bigger names to do these vids now. It's really interesting to see how they work (never would have guess this dude would sample Fleetwood Mac).
