Coki/Mala Drum Samples

Post by TaylorNewWalk » Fri May 30, 2014 10:59 am

Does anyone know where Coki and Mala etc. get their drum samples?

I read in an interview that Mala uses Battery and says that the samples in Battery are great. But that can't be the only place he gets his samples from...

Any ideas?

I'm thinking of tunes like "All Of A Sudden", "Red Eye" and "Changes".

There's probably a million different answers to this question because they probably get them from a million different places. Battery is the shit though, I highly recommend it.

I borrowed a gong sample from a Mala track I use regularly...but that is like the opposite of the OP...

Honestly zosomagik pretty much nailed it...no good answer to this question.

Yeah I know what you mean, but the drum sounds they use in most of their songs are reasonably similar... Wondering if it could be from actual drum machines as well? I can't really imagine that they are using something like Vengeance or Prime Loops etc...
