ABOUT ESTEL:

Born and raised in a small village in northern Italy, Estel Luz grows up listenig to a wide range of music, from latin music (thanx to her southamerican origins) to hip-hop and asian music. Mom and Dad are the big inspirations. She loves watching them dancing together in silence while suggesting what her road to track will be. She starts playing drums at the age of 9. At the age of 16 she descovrs Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and the real love for Black Music. At the age of 17 she moves to brasil after winning a scholarship. This experience changes her style and brings new skills to her writing and performing. Once she moves to Turin to study Anthropology she meets a group of guys and form a reggae dub band, where she still sings, the Dotvibes. Reggae and dub are the real beginning of her songwriting. She and her band open the act for many important bands: Alborosie, Mikal Rose, Derrick Morgan, Easy Stars All Stars. Torino and her fertile underground scene soon become a good battle field where drum and bass and dubstep are the main sources to create and improvise. She starts performing as MC every saturday night with The Dreamers, a group of djs and d'n'b lovers created by the Rollers inc. She collaborates with other producers and gets involved in another live band called The Sweet LifeSociety, with whom she perfomrs at Big Chill Festival and other festivals around Europe.



The track Sugar was made more than one year ago with Epi, half brain of Epitome, and now active with a new dub project under the pseudonim of Madplate Sound. Graziano, the man who is now running NoMad, provides the more clubby oriented B side remix by changing the key of the whole track.
