Hey!

I want to start with different style of Dubstep ''Riddim'' but what I really want to know is how does the wonky stuff is made, either in Massive or idk Reazor? There are some modulations, right? All I know about that kind of music is that the melody is simple and is repetitive at the drop, well not always but the most of the times it is.
Some advice?
I would like to sound like this
Soundcloud
or
Soundcloud
Thanks in advance!

Square waves and very short delay times. Effectrix is a great plug in to put on these sounds.

Could you go a little more in depth? It's not literally that simple. I've heard that before, tried for hours on end, and get nowhere near Monxx, Badklaat, P0gman or ANY of that type of sound.
I have Massive/Razor, and Effectrix. Been trying for weeks.

Most of them work in Reason that gives it the sound but indeed a lot of square waves with short delay , reverb, flanger !

Dont forget t fuck around with stuff like phasers and chorus
In fact chorus does most of the work for riddim basses

The second tune sounds like duckorgan + scream filter. Put an lfo on the position and cutoff and have it set to a sawtooth 1/12.

Pretty sure monxx is selling a bunch of their presets if you want a more in depth look.

I can get pretty close using this method, and some post processing... Flanger > Chorus > Delay (setting the time to 16.6ms seems to be the sweet spot for getting that very metallic sound) > Reverb

I really like 10ms for delay.

This is the closest I've gotten to a "riddim" like bass. I think it sounds pretty legit though. Skip to 1:24 to hear it. Its a Digigrain 1 and a Chrome wavetable going to a Bandreject, and a Double Notch filter. Im uploading a tutorial on it next week.
