Wave Racer/Flume Sound design (Aussie Futurebeats)

Post by jstnj » Fri Aug 08, 2014 1:57 pm

Hoping to get an idea how how to construct this synth. I have been able to get close by using brass presets in Sylenth, but I also have massive, strobe, fm8, and a bunch of others to muck about with as well.

The song below has some minor/augmented chords and a cool bassline...so that does affect the "fullness" of the sound. The brass presets are a good starting point because of the slow attack of these sounds, but if someone can walk me through their thought process on a closer attempt than I can achieve...I would be greatful.

Thanks all!

I haven't really tried designing these sounds myself, but Diva from u-he has some amazing presets for them. If you watch some of KRNE's previews on Facebook you can see that he uses this synth a lot.

I'd love to be able to tear apart that sound in a synth that I already own and am familiar with. Unfortunately I own no u-he synths.
