Mental Adventure - Covalence [Spacebass]
Soundcloud
Hey guys-
Proud to present the first of a few things I've been working on lately. This one's a bit of a love song..
It's a song about my favorite kind of bond between people--where we share the best parts of ourselves in order to make the two of us grow stronger together.
Hope you enjoy!

Very nice. I think this song would be even better without the wobble bass though.
Re: Mental Adventure - Covalence [Spacebass]
Interesting. What would you replace the it with?

This pretty good man. I definitely felt the vibes on it.

Feeling this one. Sick melody at the 4 min onwards mark. I agree with Wick effect maybe drop the wobble and replace with a deep sub however it works with the wobble thats just my preference. Keep it up man!

Thanks for the kind words! I forgot to check back for a few days, and I agree.. that wobble is sort of.. everpresent lol.
Initially, I thought of it as a swirling feeling, like I was getting swept up in it, so I can understand that 'too much' feeling.

Haha I doubt I came up with it, but it sounds cool, right?I haven't heard that genre before

You mean our private parts?
I think the wobble issue is that it has enough upper end to conflict with your mid-range melody and higher end ambient parts and even without the wobble, there is a lot going on up there to start with. Umm…prob with some ninja EQ cutting and stereo placement you could give each part it's own frequency and stereo spot and make things more clear but also keep in mind that at any one point in time, you want really just one part to be the focus of the track where everything else needs to fall back. I think the wobble is so prominent that it seems to always be the focus so around 1:30 your mix gets really get crowded because you introduce that delayed bloopy bloop part and it just sort of flops on top of everything else. You could try volume automation on your other parts to drop them out a bit but I would also think about stereo placement and check what is in the middle and what is on the sides. The wobble might just need some filtering down or even split the frequency so that you can retain the lower end bass volume and then back the high freq parts down. Just some thoughts! It comes down to what ever works best. I like the track though. I feel nice and relaxed like I am floating out in space not givin a Fuuuck

Upped, that was very helpful-
You know what sucks? I boosted the highs to shit in the wobble cause I thought the track lacked 'energy'
-Maybe I was trying to force my own feeling onto a template.. Just something you made me consider, so thank you
