Saw Pad (not same question as always)

Post by SinStudly » Wed Aug 27, 2014 4:16 pm

Contrary to most of the saw inquiries, I'm trying to get mines to sound a bit dirty. I've heard it several times in different songs but the best example would be this

Soundcloud

Sound starts at 1:48

I've tried using sawer from FL Studio but I haven't gotten the results I wanted. Anybody have any tips or even know what that synth is called?

Thank you

Using Sylenth: Use a square and sine an octave apart on the "A" oscillator page, you can detune them if you want. Use saw on the "B" oscillator page. Lowpass A, Band or Hipass B. Play with the cutoffs & resonances. Layer in white noise if you need more top end. As for ADSR, short attack and long sustain. Add some reverb and compression.

Basically about layering different harmonics with nice chords... a la deadmau5: https://soundcloud.com/spectrafunk/lolmau5/s-Rwwh4
