Snares n Basses

Post by Skrylarek » Mon Sep 01, 2014 6:51 am

Snare:I am getting help for this but I wanna see if there are any other methods. So this snare is very hard hitting and dubsteppy and I want to know how to get that sound. The transient, the body, and the tail. Any ideas on how it could be made from scratch and not from vengeance samples? Plus how do you get a transient looking like this:

here's the snare

So basically I just want to get that sound of the snare but I wanna make it from scratch. Is it easy to make?

Bass: The main bass in All Is Fair In Love In Brostep is cool. The "U-U-UUU-U-U-UUU-U-U-UUU" (Bad description I know) but I want to know if it could be made in Massive. It sounds simple but it's complicated to recreate

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers :D

That extra punchy sound comes from boosting the low mid region of the snare in an equalizer and cutting out a little bit of the mid section to make room for the boosts made. Then add a little boost to the high end of the snare. Also a little compression helps to give it a good punch.

Yes you could make a snare sound in Massive. And then slow it down after recording it just a little. Then add a little distortion the do the above.
