Do you sit on the floor to produce?
Maybe an odd question to westerners, just wondering if anyone does it. I just bought some stands that put my monitors on level with my ears when I'm sat on my arse

I sit down during the majority of the process, but I usually take the time to have a little stand up jam to whatever I'm working on at the time to make sure it's actually danceable (depending on the nature of the song obviously!)

Sometimes yes, but most often, I push the chair out of the way.chekov wrote:you sit down when you're mixing?

I usually stand when I'm working out melodies and drums etc. so I can groove along with it. I mix sitting down. I also stand while doing hardware jams.
also @skins I find it a little redonk that you sit while mixing...at all...just personally I can't imagine "getting into the mix" while sitting down. Are you mixing elevator music for a nursing home or are yo mixing dance music ;p

Re: Do you sit on the floor to produce?
mostly techno at the moment
*edit* Here's a mix I did last week. I quite like the blend from The Slump -> Work Them which starts at about 1hr 24, I feel like that has a decent amount of energy. I must admit, I was standing up for that one.

I know somebody here who is really good does.
Re: Do you sit on the floor to produce?
well I don't really ever stand up while I'm actually producing... but after I'm done working on a section I'll turn off all the lights and switch on some LEDs and jam to it tho

Sometimes yes, as desk space is a bit of a premium. However, the cats get very interested and start chewing on

Re: Do you sit on the floor to produce?
Sitting at the kitchen table is more practical as it's got more space. Only issue is that it's glass and resonates funny at certain frequencies.
Also, cats.
Also, cats.
