alright vinylizer, go into Soho, take a right outta oxford st and walk 4 mins till you get to Berwick St.

Record shops come and go, but check out select-a-disc and Sisterray.

Depending how long your in the country check out boomkat, the online manifestation of Pelicanneck Records in Manchester... they deliver quick and always good service ;-)

Yeah, I know many shops in Soho, Nottinghill and Camden. These are the places where I usually go for shopping. But this time I will specialize in Dubstep, so I will definitely goto Blackmarket. Select-A-Disc seems to have a bit of everything - do they really have a good Dubstep-selection?

Any more hints for Dubstep-specialists? (Blackmarket always used to be sooo expensive...)

Blackmarket has the largest selection (already mentioned).

Uptown has a selection as well on their wall. and Sisterray which was already mentioned.

Selectadisc is no more - it has merged with Sister Ray, and they're now located where Selectadisc used to be

The Sound of The Universe shop is worth checking also..esp as those DMZ 12s on Soul Jazz should be surfacing soon and they will probably have it exclusive for a bit.

The bad thing about Blackmarket is they take/took the piss with prices, which is why I stopped shopping there about five years ago. Maybe they had a sudden increase in rates which I can only imagine are more than high when having a shop in that location. But saying that, I do remember vinyl being at least 2/2.50 pounds cheaper in the other shops just around the corner. [when buying 10 to 15 records in one go, that adds up to quite a bit]

Another bad element were all the cocks and teenies. *The cocks - the ones that thought record shops were the perfect place to express their badman-hood and gaze and stare into the eyes of fellow record shoppers, and just basically giving off bad vibes and attitudes. *The teenies - the school boys that had no money to buy records but would bunk off school coming in their groups of 1,536,000 and pack out the place and just waste Nicky's or Ash-attack's time just so they could go back and say to their friends "I went to Blackmarket records today".

Haven't been in there for a while. Maybe it's changed???

I have been to Blackmarket before january's DMZ. If you want to find a lot of dubstep and don't have much time on your hands, recommended. Youngsta was there and was super friendly and helpful. The other guy in the basement was one of those "I am god because I work here and you obviously are just a lowly customer" kind of asshole.

Problem is, everyone goes to these places so they tend to have sold out of anything a more than a couple of months old.

Have a dig around every record shop you can find - I've turned up allsorts of old hyperdub, dmz and big apple stuff in shops off the beaten dubstep track.
