808 sample

i got tons of 808's from various producer packs, 808-like subby kicks, i can synthesize a sub and i can use the 808 kit on my ableton..

but i'm still looking for a propa trunk shaker kick, one that u can just stick on your sampler and use it as the driving force of the tune. i've tried compressing, saturating and EQ'ing what i have but i've come to the conclusion that what i'm really looking for is a new sample, so a really rowdy 808 have you got any?

ye got some. 4 samples i tend to stick to and some presets in a couple of synths.

Ussually start of with a sine or triangle, mod in some kind of way to bring out harmonics. Filter it and then multi-band comress it.
The important part is to dist or saturate (if ring mod or whatever is not bringing out enough filt) before you filter. Might need 2 filter's with different slope's.

U really want the amp to be solid untill it's supposed to ''fall off''. So the extreme compressor's really come into play here!

Try goldbaby's super analog 808. That has been my favorite 808 sample pack by far.

If u find happen to find a really "heavy" and "professional" sounding 808 straight outta sample pack, it's because it's mixed to sound good on it's own. However when u add it into a track there's 80% chance it doesn't fit. Same thing in bigger scale goes with Vengeance and other megaprocessed "how-to-be-any-commercial-artist-u-want" packs: u listen to it for the first time on its own and it's big as fuck since it's already layered and processed, then u put it into a track and realize that it sure as hell doesn't sound skrillex.

i'm not any sort of an expert but here's an example of clicky 808 high passed at 50Hz without anything on it and after that the same kick with JUST ONE multi band compressor hitting at exact same volume. Even if my headphones are lying and in reality it sounds shit, u can still tell how big the difference can be with one compressor.
