multi-vowel growl basses?

iv created similar basses in FM8 which im assuming this is an FM sound, although im not really sure how to get a different vowel sound using the fm modulation without changing everything else about the sound.

anyone have any ideas of how this might be made?

From what i hear, there's comb filtering on these growls. Apart from that they sound pretty regular.

Well, not really.

There's usually some sort of filtering or eq automation (or both) on growls. Comb filtering came to my mind because that longer growl (the one on at 1:30 for example) feels bit more distant and "detuned" than the shorter ones on the track. You should check out the Official Growl Bass Thread, lots of good info there.

The best way to have complete control over the vowels is definetely to use an eq where you can automate peaks an notches then you can even combine it with the vowels created by the wow for example or using every filtering plugin you want...in my opinion the important part start after all these "movement" plugin where you have to apply distorsion ( better a multi band one like ohmicide ) and set a decent reverb for make it more "real" ( usually a short release one with a higher pre delay )

all it is is fm8 and a wow filter in vowel mode on band reject. the wow filter kinda helps with the multi vowel sound as i modulate vowel B which sort of works but its not as.......profound(?) as the one im thinking of in the link in the original post, or any of the other sounds i am thinking of. I have ohmicide although i barely know how to use it. also im not really sure how to modulate an eq to control vowels.

ohmicide i can figure out on my own but does anyone know of a good place to start for the eq modulation? i know theres a growl page but im too lazy to looks through tons of pages for something this specific.

Well that's your loss, the guy who started (and posted shit loads of good information along with others to) that thread, is other half of the Barely Alive. I remember seeing stuff related exactly to the eq modulation over there somewhere.

That is a cool growl in that link. Yours actually sounds pretty close for the core patch but you are definitely missing that sloshy character. I think what you are hearing is movement of the core patch but then movement and a lot of movement of the FX and that is what is causing that dual vowel thing. That might sound like a captain obvious statement but from what I know about growls, you just want to automate everything in an FX chain that can help modify the tone.
