Umea -Brainless (Phaserstuff/metallic/ highpassed)

Post by Umea » Wed Dec 31, 2014 12:53 pm

hey folks,
what do you think of "Brainless"
i think the combination of vocoder, delays and phasers are quite interesting if set to a repetetive rhythm.
the second bass is a little bit quiter (everything higher than 649 hz). i tried to achieve a little bit variation through the vocal "breaks" where the drums stop. i dont know, at least its a track wich lives by mixing, not by playing it as a single track.

Interesting but your drop sounds empty, boost your lows and add a little reverb to your bass

hmm. thats awkward because the sub is nearly clipping. maybe its because there are not drums at the first 4 bars? i dont know but ill try. do you have a special advice for the reverb? i got quite nice monitor speakers but actually i can not really hear the reverb out of the mix except i push it to 100% w/d and set the decay time to about 3 seconds or sth like this :D im using the standard reverb of ableton, i think its quite nice
