M-Audio Firewire Audiophile issue...Is it fckd?

Post by TRG » Thu Oct 18, 2007 12:16 pm

I have a Firewire Audiophile soundcard which stopped working yesterday after 2 years of working with no significant problems. I use it both on a 2nd generation Macbook with OSX 10.4.10 and a laptop PC with Windows XP, I have the latest drivers for both of them.
Yesterday when I started it up using the Macbook, all the lights on the soundcard remained on (not flashing, but permanently on), and there was no sound, and the OS didn't recognize it.
I switched it off and tried it with the PC, but the same problem occured. I reinstalled drivers for both the mac and the PC, tried all the suggestions in the knowledge base section of m-audio.com, but nothing happened.
I never hot-plugged it or anything, it just occured out of the blue.
Any idea you might have would be greatly appreciated!
