Dubstep Tunes that U Dont Like *no fighting please*

Post by feasible_weasel » Tue Oct 23, 2007 5:58 am

8) Hopefully we have gotten to the stage where ppl dont get hounded for not liking a certain popular tune.
:D First I like slower stuff if its Burial, but some of the stuff around is incredibly dull :| 6 minuites of dull blips and blobs.
Dubstep doesnt lend itself well to slow repetative beats, if it were grime or dancehall its ok,as the hype carries the tune.
benga's Sponge Bob: not feeling this at all, very repetative, very dull.
Distance on Darkstep >>>>>> Distance now
90% of Skreams stuff i find boring, but the other 10% is tooo much
Overall anything slow and uninteresting bores me rigid
more stuff like clue kid: halogen (does get a little repetative) Toasty,Coki,Benga most of the time. Vex'd.anything diverse.
people complain about wobblers, but a repetative Wobbler >>> some dull neeky walking through treacle slow tune.

Likewise, that's why I don't buy them. Don't really want to be negative about particular artists or tunes as

a/ a lot of it's about personal taste
b/ the production is usually good even if I don't like the style
c/ the majority of producers I've met up with through dubstep have been sound people even if I don't always like the tunes.

I would say that people should remember that if the general pulse of the tune is 70bpm, it needs to add some syncopation and drive to make it interesting in the club, and a lot of tunes lack that in spades. Feels very odd during the "deep" halfstep sets and noticing that nobody's really moving.

If it comes down to moody atmospherics, sub and 145bpm tunes, early jungle did it better to my mind. I was hoping halfstep was going to be an experimental blip rather than a blueprint so it's good to hear people moving on from it.
Hmm....

No, that's why he explicitly stated (about 3 times) that it's by Coki.
