Pykno - Full Speed ahead | Is this boring? | Dubstep

Post by GeorgeZ » Thu Jan 29, 2015 4:37 am

Hi guys,

New tune lads! Now, I quite like the sound of it... but I feel it might be boring. Has my opinion been tainted by the fact that I've listened to it 10,000 times? Maybe. Any feedback would be appreciated :4:

Soundcloud

Cheers,
George

Hello! I don't think that the track is boring. I kinda feel that the drop has too much things going on at the same time, and your drums could punch through a little better. The melody stucks in your head, which is good or bad, depending on whether you like it or not. I think it's fine, not boring :) Keep at it!

Thanks heaps for the feedback! So I guess my suspicion is confirmed... listening to it while making it has killed the track for me. How do I make a track and not listen to it!? :P

I find that working for an extremely long time can be stressful. Overload of stress = kills the vibes from your own track.

Hmmm, you're probably right Graydon. I almost did it in one sitting, mixed the next day, tweaked the day after (and I wrote with mixing in mind, so the mix and tweak days were likely less than 2 hours all up).

Damn! well produced but I'm not a fan of the synth that comes in at the drop but that's only my opinions. I'll be following you on soundcloud :)

Thank you sir. Much appreciated. Re first synth at the drop, what don't you like (spill it, I don't mind, I want to learn and make my stuff better :D).
