Shackleton appreciation thread...
i have to say... Shackleton's preview of his new Skull Disco releases in Jan '08 on the show this week is just heartstopping..
serious contender for Mix Of The Year
if you wanna really hear some next level sound, check this mix out..
it's absolutely primal.. so vivid and emotive...
he's breaking incredible new ground right now...

Stupid question, but I'm listening through laptop speakers with no bass end at all... all I can hear is his percussion, I take it there is bass/music in there too?!

Yes, yes it was.Blackdown wrote:Shack @ Plastic people last night was really intense. dig up your relatives and dance time! bigup Skull Disco.
Man, it's like someone listened to the minimal techno of the last 7 years, and said 'yeah this is boring' (like I did at one point) and did all the things that needed to be done to make it better. Bass, percussion, variations. It is sick.
XOR - yes there is bass. a lot. musically it's pretty minimal, like mostly percussion and bass, not a lot of chords or anything. Sounds awesome on an enormous sound system, or on headphones on the train.
Bigups.
i wish skull disco would do nights again!!

Listened to the show live...VERY big mix indeed. Big up the Skull Disco Fam!mary anne hobbs wrote:

Problem is, I can't listen to it again because the Radio1 'Listen Again' program seems to be having some issues on my computer: every 30 seconds or so the sound switches to a really low quality (loses all of the low end and get very muffled).
Has anyone else had this trouble? Anything I can do about it?
