Hello guys I'm still a noob with sound design and I've read the tips in growl thread and someone said that EQ should be before distortion, ofc I know what is EQ and what is distortion but I don't really get it what he means by saying that, in what way EQ, cut off some frequencies, eq modulation ?

Cut everything above 85hz and then put 5 camel crushers on it
