Article about Australian Dubstep

Post by westernsynthetics » Tue Nov 27, 2007 3:07 am

sorry mods, i couldn't find the "press about dubstep" thread, anyways i reckon this article warrants its own thread anyway...a good insight into the burgeoning Australian Dubstep sound.

Cyclic Defrost is a great magazine, used to read it all the time before I moved to LDN.

It's great, dubstep is happening in Australia, slowly but surely, and hopefully they can feel some kinds of the good vibes that have happened at DMZ and FWD over the years...

...as long as they make sure they have a decent soundsystem!

yeah we're doing alright in the south sound-wise, Heartical Hi Fi ;)

not too shabby for little basment venue. I have trouble swallowing beer while standing infront of the subs at times, gotta be a good sign :D

THere are many more producers, djs and parties than appear in that article too. We're not doing too badly for an underground music scene, given it's a country with a population smaller than romania, spread over an area about the size of all of europe. Not easy to gain momentum for an underground music scene in such low desnities, but it's definatley there.
