Benny has done a mix of my tune "Dawn Stepped Outside" which will be out as part of my 12" on Immerse in late January
It's gonna fuck some people up.

It is neither classic HP nor wobble.jred wrote:everything elseKing_Hater wrote:Will it sound like Classic HP, or will it be shit like everything else coming out, with the wobble and whatnot?
It's Horsepower for 08', baby.

I'm just wondering if it will sound like HP that Ive come to love.. having a name on it doesn't make it good... it might sell, but is it GOOD... and by good, I mean is it all gimmick or is it actually quality, and doesn't rely on a wobble instead of a real melody... seen?jred wrote:loads what ya on aboutKing_Hater wrote:you listened to a new release that wasn't on Scuba in the last 2 years?jred wrote:everything elseKing_Hater wrote:Will it sound like Classic HP, or will it be shit like everything else coming out, with the wobble and whatnot?
I did hear a tune I didn't recognize when he played at Dubpressure in September that I thought was pretty next level, was sort of halfstep but actually had a really good groove (which is a rarity in itself for halfstep IMO).
Whatever he does, I hope he does what he feels is good and not make concessions to current trends, we need more innovators and less clones atm. I'd love to hear him do that classic Horsepower sound with all the influences and that effortless swing, but it'd be good to hear whatever direction he's moving in now. HP can do no wrong in my book (so far)

To be honest I'm not feeling a lot of the non-wobble tracks either.jred wrote:sall good mate its just that theres been loadsa non wobble trax of late , and if "everything else " is shit to you it pretty much means you aint feeling dubstep which begs the question what are you doing here , i dont wan any beef with anyone cos i enjoy this shit and beef just kills the buzz eh
If you take out the clowny wobblas, the subbed up trip hop, the minimal industrial tracks and the endless reggae refixes (most of which I'm not feeling), their isn't really much left to dubstep is there?
Which probably accounts for why I've only bought 3 dubstep tunes in the last three months and buying the good stuff from way back off e-bay
Still people are liking the new stuff, so fair play to them, but I do feel like there's not a great deal left in this scene that I'm finding interesting at the moment.
Hmm....

All the good stuff I've heard doesn't get a release because it doesn't have a "memorable" LFO wobble and that's pretty sad... like you said, the Classics are where it's at... just did a new mix of them recently actually and it felt good to mix a tune that had a SNARE!
