There's been some mad sonic weapons over the years, from the British 'squawk box' to some rather nasty German-built inventions that never went past the prototype stage because they kept liquidising the operator's insides.

I'm v interested in this sorta stuff, and on a wider scale Cymatics which is the study of waves & vibrations, particularly in what sound does to people. I know Kode9 is another person who's into this subject, there's some old bits on sonic warfare on his blog somewhere....
