number 2 is the best (even if it gets shown all the time)
number 4 is pretty mental from start to finish tho and cud sneak up by virtue of being completely :o , some of the stunts are next! like when the container truck is on the fly-over on only one side of wheels whilst being hunted and shot at by a figher jet in the middle of the city! :o :o

ITV2's been rinsing 1 and 2 for the last week or so. Gearing up for the 3 premiere over Christmas methinks.

Anyway, 1.

agreed with what PK said.

i'd only add that nakatomi plaza still owned all the other plausible plots. i mean, when he was in the airport terminal shooting up people on his back whilst being moved by the people mover, it was pushing the limits.

at least in nakatomi plaza he's barefoot and bleeding whilst jumping down elevator shafts and trying to kill hans gruber.

don't forget your man the limo driver that was stuck in the basement of nakatomi and then backs the limo out of the garage through the wall.

out to that badman. his time.

3 and 4 lacked all the Die Hard standards like Powell and the annoyingly journalist guy who was in Ghostbusters.

2 was an ok movie but loads of it was kinda aware of itself as a sequel to a blockbuster, like when Eminem's 2nd album is mainly about how much it sucks to be famous. Plus the bad guy is nowhere near as good as in...

1 which is 80s action perfection from beginning to end. That and Last Boy Scout. No one can get the shit kicked out of them for a whole movie like Bruce fuckin' Willis.

I don't think I've ever seen any of these the whole way through.

Zeitgeist well and truly ignored, ho hum.
Hmm....

that's criminal. as far as action movies go they're really good. not my favourite type of film but these do it well. prefer the more realistic first one but 2 is good if a bit ridiculous at times

They're all ace, but as Whistla so eloquently put it 4.0 is completely :o I left the cinema excited like a kid after watching it!

4 was complete utter shite. if it wasn't called die hard 4, it could have been called fucking anything because it didnt seem to bear any relevance to the previous die hard films. complete shite.

die hard 1 is still the daddy :D

anyone remember the ultimately poor die hard trilogy game on the ps1? sooooooo bad

DIE HARD IS MY FAVOURITE FILM EVER. AND I MEAN EVER. LIKE OF ALL THE BIG HOLLYWOOD FILMS and all the artsy farsty film noir i have to watch as part of my course.

The others rank in this order, a topic hotly debated amongst my peers and i over a glass of scotch while watching ALL the die hards in one go.

1. Die Hard
2. Die Hard 4.0
3. Die hard with a vengance
4. Die Hard 2: Die Harder

haha yes, his names argyle. absolute legend.
also no.1s got agent johnson and special agent johnson, no relation (ones black and ones white - classic)

no1 had all the best one liners and then no4 had a feeble attempt at trying to replicate thos one liners
by adding dickhead at the end of every one of MClanes sentences. failed dysmally.

2 and 3 stand up pretty well but 1 is just the best action movie. its got everything

ok hold the fuck up becuase you obviously dont know your shit.

thru die hard 1 and 3 the gruber brothers have both been killed so how could they have carried that story on? if they had been like,

'oh here's fritz gruber, the third brother' it would have too much man, come on!

i like how in 4.0 the bad guy and pretty much evryone is techy star trek kid and mcclane is just an old school hard tnuc who bashes them all.

secondly, the film DOES, i repeat DOES link to previous films, but in subtle, you have to be a die hard geek like me, kind of way.

for example, when mcclane is introduced to the fbi agent handling the case, his name is agent johnson...HELLO MASSIVE FUCKING LINK BACK TO NO.1...... the two fbi agents johnson and johnson who ct the power lines to the building allowing the thieves to get thru the final pass code... which is why in the new one mcclane goes...'oh brother' when he learns who he is working with.

CAN TEST MAN ABOUT DIE HARD!!!!!!

but, i can agree with that the ps game was sick. it was like 3 games in one.
