I would like to start a thread for DSI Evolver users that will help in dubstep production techniques just for the little blue monster.
If you have patches or thoughts on programming, routing, sequencing or using the Analog and digital oscillators please share your ideas here.
I will start it off with a question:
Perhaps I am not routing properly, but I am hard pressed to get the Evolver to get the exact Wub Wub I want. I have read through all the Wub forums and I am able to get a phenomenal house rattling sub bass with vibrato - but the wicked wub is elusive. Basically I am using my Machinedrum SPS1-UW as the Master and the Evolver as the slave via midi. I have tried using the Tri, Saw, combo and PW Analog Oscillators as the tone source, then the LFO routed to the (FiL Filter Cutoff) using all LFO waveforms and amounts, and I have tried changing the routing as well to other Filter settings. In some cases, I have gotten close, but the sync is not right and the wub is more of a slap. I have also tried using Modulation and Envelopes. Any patch settings to get it going in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post some clues?parameter wrote:...sent some clues...
I'm a big fan of the Evolver and would love to see the other Evolver users help bring this thread to life. I'm programming some patches at this second and will share them when they are done. Would be cool to get a nice library of Evolver patches put up somewhere.

Remember that the LFO 'Amount' settings go from 0-100 and then continue 1-100 again. The first range gives you free running LFOs, the second lot are synced to keypresses which is probably what you want.bdotodotx wrote:In some cases, I have gotten close, but the sync is not right and the wub is more of a slap.
If you must use an Evolver for basic 'wub' at all that is... Which is a bit like taking the kids to school in a Lamborghini Countach.
