Yeah, it'll work in theory if the mixer can take line level inputs from the pc, as opposed to just phono level inputs from the decks. Point being that it's the levels that'll fuck you up, rather than the cabling.

Sorry I know fuck all about DJ mixers, just felt sorry for you having to bump the thread twice :D

why would you plug your monitors into an input?

exactly what do you want to accomplish? do you want to hear both your turntables and your pc through the same speakers? if so do this...

turntables into phono inputs on your dj mixer (duh)
pc into aux / line inputs on your dj mixer (probably need a 1/8 inch/mini to dual RCA cable for this)
dj mixer outputs to monitors. you should be able to toggle back and forth to hear either (but not both) sources...

or are you trying to record your turntable mixes with your pc? if so do this...

turntables into phono inputs on your dj mixer (duh)
record outs / aux outs / sub outs to input on pc soundcard.
pc soundcard mini output to monitors...

(if your mixer doesn't have record/aux/sub outs use master output)

hope this helps lil homey...

thats exactly what im trying to do so i dont have to keep swapping about between. Think it''l work as my mixer had 2 balanced XLR outputs. all i need now is to but the cables apart from the RCA to mini jack. Cheers mate for clearing things up and cheers to everyone else who replied. thought i was gunna b fobbed off completely!!

big ups.

Just an Idea. Get an firewire interface. THen you can plug your decks and monitors into that. What's more it'l all be balanced XLR/Balanced 1/4inc jacks and sound much better. Depends how good your sound card is tho. Mite not need one.
