Pressing Issues Recordings LOGO

Post by ramadanman » Wed May 10, 2006 4:09 pm

Ok guys pretty happy we've settled on this name relatively easily and quickly.

right now we need a logo.

what kind?
what style?
textual logo or just symbol?

post ideas here, then once we have a brief as such, we can get to work on a logo design competition or something

i don't know if it's been done, but i was thinking a stylized black and white stamp, always going with the KISS (keep it simple stupid) style, and have it seem like the releases are literally stamped with the info

would be easy to swtich colors/invert etc for different uses, and hopefully very recognizable so that at first glance, it sticks out.

thats about the only idea i have thus far

forum logo is quite cool. not sure how effective it would look with about twice as many letters though

i think from this logo we're looking for something clean, strong lines, straight edges

partisan had the sick styles man, i loved that artwork...soviet inflected

not to mention the tunes!

as for ours...i dunno, i think simple is the way forward, i think that if its gonna be done then people should submit designs for evaluation, see what eveyone thinks...

ok ill appeal for graphic designers on the main forum to submit chosen designs

how about some incentive - ie the winner gets a copy of pressing issues 001?

or even the winner also gets to design the record sleeve / sticker

as far as i'm concerned you can use forum logo, but you have to ask Mr Citizen -> http://dubstepforum.com/profile.php?mod ... file&u=182 for permission cos he made that logo for us, but i'm sure he will be glad to help you..

I would say that the emphasis for the logo should be placed primarily on the word 'pressing'.

Also we should somehow incorporate some element of the dubstep forum logo into it. Perhaps the asterix for dotting the i?
