Isle Of Wighters Show yourselves?

Post by ts (yesyesiow) » Wed Jan 16, 2008 3:28 pm

Who's a resident of the Isle Of Wight on this forum then?
Any former Islanders now living elsewhere and feeling the Dubstep vibration?
Even if your just lurkers show yourselves to say hi and prove me wrong in thinking i know all of the local crew

Nice one Piston, thanks. The ferry, what can I say? Its fucking extortionate, about £40 return for a car +1 and at least £15 for a weekend return as a foot passenger.

We do a bit of Dubstep but its a battle with various promoters controlling all the venues. My mate has a decent rig and we tend to take a bit of DIY attitude with outdoor parties and renting holiday camp function rooms in the winter.

Its not solely a Dubstep thing and it doesnt really relate to the scene elsewhere tbh. It just features alongside what all of the other members of my 'crew' (sarcasm intended) are also doing.

Its a typical I.O.W thing really that there are no specific music scenes so all of the likeminded individuals (in our case the common theme is electronic music i suppose) get together and bring different stuff to the party.

If anybody is ever interested in coming down to play PM and we can sort something out although I warn you now that there F.A money in it for anyone (but always the garuntee of a good night out)

WIGHT, its the Isle Of Wight. The coloured sand is pretty, you can get all sorts of shaped glass holders for it. Been to the place with the gian fibreglass dinosaurs? How about the country park with feral wallabies? Also attractions commonly known by mainlanders

Oh sorry dude, wight. I thought it was Isle of White cos it was made of the same rocks as the cliffs of dover! Shit, I was blazing some heavy bud when I was over so maybe I just was too zoned to read!

Yeah - my little sis got this glass coloured sand holder shaped as a horse. I just got the test tube one. Didnt see no fibreglass dinosaurs though. ? But thats no big one we got them down in this park in Kent near where my Nan lives. They always getting vandalised though!

Didnt see no feral wallabies neither. They them bush baby things, right?

Shit, would have liked to have checked them!

Spent too long in the caravan blazing and listening to my ipod.

Peace bro.

Ha ha no worries mate, only pulling your leg really

The wallabies live at Robyn Hill Country Park. Its the venue for the Bestival and they used to have the run of the joint prior to the Bestival moving in once a year. I think a few of them couldn't handle the debauchery of that weekend and had move to a quieter place. I heard a few can be found helping out a various festival stalls throughout the season these days....

oi oi Pat how goes it?

I know what your saying about the ferries et al, they're a bad bad thing for us down here, it makes a short distance very difficult to cover.

I'll keep the forum crew posted on the parties down here over the summer, there's a couple of really big ones that are probably worth the trip.
(9th of August on the top of Culver Cliff for all the 5-0 who don't read this site for parties)
