Post-Rave Vinyl Misfortune
Post-Rave Vinyl Misfortune
I played at a warehouse rave in manchester on saturday. It was a great night and I was pleased with the way my set went but due to some haggard random my record bag and all its contents got soaked. All the sleeves were stuck together and a lot of the records have been soaked as well. And so...
What is the best way to clean the records? Will warm water do?
and
Does anyone know if its possible to get replacement sleeves from record labels?
Didnt know what forum to put this in as I havent slept in a good long time and my mind is battered. I'm sure with a bit of research I could figure this out for myself but I'm in power-lazy mode. Any help is really appreciated.

a LITTLE fairy liquid and a bowl of warm (not hot!) water with a very soft fibre cloth shud clean up ya records ok, make sure you follow the grooves around tho and dont just rub all over randomly, u may lose the odd label dependin on how much stickyness you need to remove.
plain replacement disco sleeves and paper sleeves are easy to get, just do a google search

Sorry to hear your misfortune bruv, ye just wash them in water. I know its a shame losing some sleeves with artwork, but least you will be able to salvage your tunes, if you go to www.chemicalrecords.co.uk they sell vinyl sleeves in packs of 25 50 n that, you can get plain white plain black or you can go all dub police or deep medi and buy packs of the coloured ones, im gonna get some soon myself for my old garage tunes that look like they been through world war 1 2 3 4 and 5Tomity wrote:I played at a warehouse rave in manchester on saturday. It was a Gash / Daylight Robbery Soundsystem / Preston Madhatters thing. I was going to advertise it on here but due to the fact it was illegal I was under strict orders to keep quiet. I did think of PMing you but forgot about it due to rushing around. It went down really well. Peeps were really into it.Thomas wrote:What warehouse rave did you play?
