Getting gigs ?

Simple question but many answers !

How do you go about getting gigs sorted out ?

Ask a pub or venue first.. lol

Get some flyers printed at least a month before, tell EVERY1 you know.

get some mates to play for free if pos, ask for 10% of the bar once you've done it a few times and got some heads to turn up and buy drinks..

, seriously though it's not too hard to organize..

Make a list of what you need to buy/get/do and start doing them one by one..

You can book me too if your close.. lol

Well, I'm not asking from a promoters point of view, from an artists (we do live heavy dubstep) but its pretty confusing where to start. I'm not sure if we are meant to contact some kind of promoter or manager ect to get this stuff rolling.

come on it can't be that confusing.... Record you material... put it on the net... burn it on a cd... go a dubstep night... hell maybe a dnb or jungle night and pass your demo to them. Of course put your contact info somewhere on it...

GO TO SHOWS. Get a cd put together, go to shows, get to know everyone. Dont just sit around and wait, u gotta make it happen yourself

Yeah we're just about to get some cd's done tomorrow night, then I've got to get into the habbit of putting them in my pockets !
The last time we were out gigging everything fell into place for about 2 years, so we didn't really have to think about it

Now everyone is old
