[Tutorial] How To Find Samples Using Google

Post by wub » Mon Mar 10, 2008 7:26 pm

So, let's say you need some snares. type in the following on the Google homepage:

?intitle:index.of? wav snare

and you have 5 pages of open directories full of snares.

Change snare to whatever kind of sample you are looking for and it will most likely show up on there.

This obviously works for other types of file. Substitute avi for wav and oral for snare and you'll see what I mean.

Wub steps up to the plate with that info right there!

I've been using this to find mp3's for ages, but it never occurred to me to find samples this way either.

My way is slightly different.

EXAMPLE:

intitle:"index.of" (mp3|wav|aiff|mp4) kick.drum -htm -html

Wub, You the man...

It's good for sourcing MIDI files as well, if you're into that sort of thing ;)

this is good.

we use it like this:

intitle:"index.of" (wmv|avi|mpg) group.sex -htm -html

!!! lol j/k.
sort of.

have enough snares. what would you recommend I search for if looking for more ethnic type sounds? i guess I could find some exotic instruments?
I like the asian sting instruments. Do you know what any of those are called? Kyoto, toyota, daihatsu midget...???
also i guess we could just search for sex sounds?? i want to start making more erotic music.
