Post by dj_rasheed » Sat Mar 15, 2008 8:37 pm

Im sorry if i a little late on this....

BUT

is this a real album version or some rmx ???

i have heard that "the new Britney's album has a bona fide dubstep pop tune on it ".

and that...

"Timbaland's protoge Danja Hands is cranking it out at the moment and has obviously been checking out what the yoot of E London are up to.Expect to hear more farty noises on your radio very soon"

Ffs

It's just a wobble bassline, that's it.

No dub, minimal, d'n'b, or Middle Eastern/'exotic' or any other influence you hear in dubstep. No infinite delay lines, no heavy reverb, no sense of great space. No toying with effects. No halfstep, breaks or garage/2step beats. Not even that much bass.

I'm sorry if I come across as a bit of a tnuc here, but this is an old question and it is a stupid one too. The wobble is a sound associated with dubstep, and vice versa, but that doesn't mean that if I use it in a track, that track automatically becomes dubstep.

If I make a house tune, and want to use pitched-down 808 kicks for the bassline, does that make it a jungle track? If I make a hiphop track and use a guitar solo in it, does that make it rock?

I agree, it's quicker than dubstep too.

it's a wicked tune

britney's producers always seem to set the trends for whatever period of pop they're operating in - wait for all other pop producers to start biting stuff like this like they did with toxic-style strings and stuff like that

I like the beat but not the vocal.

Is it? I didn't count the bpm or anything, but it seems to me to be around the 100-120 mark perhaps? Dubstep tends to be around 140 BPM>..

this is NOT dubstep.

just pop influenced by dubstep wobble, using a wobble bassline, which isnt even that bassy...

i almost had a heartache hearing this, when it opened up i thought it was dubstep, but listening carefully its not dubstep at all, so thank fuck for that.

would be a SAD SAD SAD day u saw a dubstep beat with a britney spears vocal, album or not.
